Instructional Text
If you want to learn how to use an ATM, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve created a special Hands on Banking ATM simulator to show you how.
Now keep in mind that not all ATMs are exactly the same. There may be a few differences in how they work and the functions they offer. But they’re all designed to be easy to use. Just follow the directions on the screen.
This simulator will give you a good idea of a typical ATM. To use it, start by inserting your card and typing in the numbers two-four-six-eight. That’s a sample PIN, or secret code, that we’ve created just for this example. After you’ve entered your PIN, you’ll see several options for what to do next – for example, check your balance or make a deposit. Just click on the ATM screen to choose the function you want.
If you want to get cash, click on Withdraw from Checking and type in how much money you want. Just be careful not to withdraw more than your available balance. After you get your cash, remember to retrieve your ATM card and keep your receipt.
Keeping a receipt is definitely a good habit to get into. In the real world, it’s important to record every transaction you make in your transaction register.
So…those are the basics. Now have fun trying it out for yourself. When you’re done, just click Next.
